Application Procedures

The MYLA Board is very pleased to announce that with the help and guidance of Allah (SWT) and all of those who generously contributed to the MYLA scholarship fund, MYLA will be giving out $29,000 in thirteen (13) scholarship awards this year

The 2012-2013 MYLA Scholarship Application form is ONLINE. So no forms to print or mail (transcripts still need to be sent via regular mail).

While applying for the scholarship please follow all directions carefully. Eligibility criteria for this year's scholarship has changed. Please carefully review the Requirements and Evaluation criteria outlined in the application form. Failure to follow instructions will result in the application being disqualified.

Please take note of the following additional instructions:

1. Before applying make sure you meet the criteria listed in the application.
   
2. Deadline for submitting all material including scholarship application form is Jun 08, 2012.
3. Please note that to promote more lawyers, journalists and political activists in the community - MYLA will be awarding bonus credits to applicants who are pursuing a degree in law or journalism or have actively engaged in political activism. To be eligible for this bonus credite qualified candidates must fill in the appropriate specialized area within the application and provide relevant information.
   
   Applicants will be only eligible for one specialized area considerations, so if an applicant feels that they may be eligible for multiple areas, they should pick one that they feel that they are most qualified for.
4. Letters of Recommendation MUST follow instructions provided in the application. Failure to do so will disqualify the application.
5. If you have questions, please visit our FAQ page. If your question is not answered by our FAQ page, then please send us your question using our feedback page or the email listed in the application form.
6. You will need to register for the online application using an e-mail address and password. MYLA will use the email address provided while registering for the application for all correspondences, so please make sure that you use an email that you will be accessing on a regular basis. The online application supports saving your work and continuing at a later time.
7. Please make sure that emails from MYLA do not go into your or your recommendors spam folders. Please add MYLA email address to your address book and please ensure that MYLA email is received by your recommendors. MYLA will not be responsible for missed deadlines or other issues due to MYLA emails going to your spam folder.
8. If you find any errors in the online application form, please let us know using the contact us form on the website or the email address provided in the online application form.
